Nicole’s old built-in desk was falling apart, so I tore it out and built something a whole lot better in its place. This project includes lower cabinets, drawers, a fitted desktop, and eventually a full upper bookcase to transform the entire alcove. In this video, I walk through the process of measuring the space, templating the top, modeling the project in SketchUp, building the walnut casework, fitting the drawers and door, and installing everything for a clean custom fit.
