I think there are very few instances in the video game industry that have as many film adaptations as Mortal Kombat. For a long time now, Mortal Kombat II, has been one of the most anticipated movies of the year, and finally, it is time for the D-Day! After the remarkable 1995 adaptation, the Mortal Kombat movie series has been a mix of hits and misses, and as far as the 2021 Mortal Kombat film is concerned, it didn’t exactly deliver as we expected. Yes, there was plenty to like, but the overemphasis on an original character created for the movie, Cole Young, and the absence of the actual tournament, kind of took the fun away.
