Angela Rayner has been cleared of tax avoidance by HMRC following a probe into underpaid stamp duty. Speaking exclusively to ITV News, the Labour MP admitted she was "horrified" by the allegations but "welcomed" the tax authority's decision, which confirms she will face no fines or penalties. The ruling comes months after the row forced Rayner to resign as Deputy Prime Minister and Housing Secretary last September, following an independent ethics advisor's finding that she had breached the ministerial code over an £800,000 flat in Hove.
