This music theory lesson will show you that's not the always the case, and if you learn the other perspectives, you can gain access to some remarkable musical colors and flavors. Basically - chords "could" come from modes, yes, but they also could "come from" lots of other places. By the end of the lesson, you should have the skills to craft chord progression with modal mixture (aka modal interchange) and borrowed chords, but also have ideas of how to play on top of them.
