In this talk, Wenting Xu reflects on what it truly means to bloom in a world full of external expectations, praise, comparison, and judgment. Through her experiences on a dating show, studying abroad, entering the legal profession, and learning to advocate for herself, she explores how people often mistake outside approval for self-knowledge. Her story invites us to step away from borrowed mirrors, listen to our inner voice, and grow into our own shape at our own pace. Wenting Xu holds both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from China University of Political Science and Law, as well as an LL.M. from the Université de Montréal. She works in the international arbitration team at Jingtian & Gongcheng Law Firm in Beijing.
