LBC's Washington Correspondent Simon Marks joins James O'Brien to discuss the latest from the US. It comes as Donald Trump has agreed a settlement with the Internal Revenue Service after suing over leaked tax returns from his first presidency. In exchange for dropping a $10bn claim, the Trump family and business will receive protections against further audits of existing tax returns. The federal government will also create a $1.776bn compensation fund for people claiming they were targeted by politically motivated investigations or prosecutions. Critics, including Democrats, have described the fund as a “slush fund”. Administration officials have declined to rule out claims from people charged over the January 6 Capitol attack.
