Megaman legends was a series that is very dear to my childhood. A lot of my work and style was heavily inspired by the game growing up. I’ve always wanted to do a fan opening like a 90s anime you’d see on tv or the opening cutscene to a PlayStation game. It’s what a kid version of me wanted to see to back in the day. I planned to initially animate the whole thing, but I think that’s way too much work for something that isn’t mine. I think a storyboard or animatic could capture the feeling I was looking for. Maybe one day I’d organize a map animation collab and get artists to animate a shot. Wanted to pay tribute to a series that was one of the main reasons why I pursued a creative path. The song playing isn’t random, it’s found in the official soundtrack of the game that wasn’t heard in the us release.
