The threat of a chemical tank exploding in Southern California has been significantly reduced, the Orange County Fire Authority said Monday morning. The threat of an explosion still exists, officials said, but the chance of a more catastrophic vapor explosion has been eliminated. The race to avert a “catastrophic, worst-case scenario” in Southern California could evolve Monday as crews investigate a crack in a toxic chemical tank that could ease pressure and help prevent a leak or explosion which could hurl debris into homes miles away. CNN’s Wolf Blitzer speaks with Orange County Fire Authority Interim Chief TJ McGovern about the operation to get control of the tank. Also, CNN’s Veronica Miracle reports from the scene, and CNN senior national security analyst Juliette Kayyem explains the evacuation. 0:00 Orange County Fire Authority interim chief on the explosion threat 2:32 Chief McGovern describes operation to examine the tank up close 5:03 CNN correspondent has the latest
