For months, Four Corners has been investigating BHP and its green energy plans. Documents exclusively leaked to Four Corners and Guardian Australia show it has shelved plans to spend billions of dollars on renewable energy. Days before the Four Corners program went to air, BHP published advertisements in major newspapers across the country promoting its success in cutting the company’s emissions by 36 per cent. What it doesn’t reveal is BHP's WA mines are only likely to cut emissions by around one per cent by 2030.
