Two Samoan nationals, 27-year-old Vaa Vaa and 23-year-old Steve Tafia, have confessed on Vietnamese television to the murder of 24-year-old Sydney gang leader Lorenzo Lemalu, suspected head of the Coconut Cartel. The men travelled to Ho Chi Minh City using fake passports and were arrested on the Cambodian border less than 72 hours after the shooting at a restaurant, which also left 27-year-old associate Sam Sauni critically injured. Vietnamese police allege the hitmen were acting under the direction of an individual abroad.
