Authorities in Southern California said on May 25 that an overheating tank of hazardous chemicals is no longer under threat of exploding. Officials said firefighters took part in an overnight operation to eliminate the possibility of threats from the tank. On May 21, the tank of highly flammable methyl methacrylate began overheating at the GKN Aerospace facility, south of Los Angeles.
