“She was six years old. Old enough to wait excitedly for Eid. Old enough to play outside her home. But Minatah Abu Libda was carried through Khan Younis in a white shroud instead of a dress. ‘This little girl was playing at the door of her home. God intended for children around the world to be celebrating Eid — and this is what happened to her. An innocent child who did nothing wrong. She was beloved. All of us loved her.’ In Gaza, burying a child has become routine. For many families, the days before Eid have become days of mourning. Minutes earlier, wounded civilians were rushed to the hospital. Inside, injured children filled overcrowded wards. ‘People are preparing for Eid, yet the killing hasn’t stopped. We are exhausted. They destroyed our homes, and they still come after us. What do we have left? What more do they want from us?’ Displaced families say nowhere feels safe anymore — not homes, not shelters, not even tent camps. Israel says it targets armed groups in the area
