Social media is the new smoking, top doctors have warned, as pressure grows on the government to introduce a ban for under-16s. The government’s Growing Up In The Online World consultation, which floated measures such as an Australia-style social media ban for under-16s, app curfews and limits on addictive features, closes at the end of Tuesday, with bereaved families set to meet with the prime minister.
