Man suffers severe burns to groin on flight to London

During a flight from Las Vegas to London last year, Nick Gibbs suffered severe burns to his groin when a hot drink spilled into his lap. Left in excruciating pain, Nick felt the cabin crew's response was 'disgraceful' with members of staff even laughing and joking as he looked for help. Left with significant scarring that's had a 'huge' impact on his mental health, Nick is suing the airline while also calling for all hot drinks on flights to be served at room temperature with a lid. A Virgin Atlantic spokesperson said: "We'd like to apologise for the experience Mr Gibbs had onboard. At Virgin Atlantic, the safety and wellbeing of our customers and our people is always our top priority. Our cabin crew are highly trained to deliver drinks safely, with hot drinks served below boiling temperature and filled to below the brim in specially designed cups or mugs.
