Scoring grades, GPA sheets, and test results. There were always endless numbers following us. For years, we believed that the numbers were the authentic answer to a very personal question: "Are we good enough?" After spending a summer attending a sailing camp, Jack realized that nothing from the weeks of experience would ever appear on future transcripts. Nobody would grade it, rank it. Then he started to wonder. If the moments that he felt the most "alive" was invisible to the grading system, what exactly was this system measuring? In this talk, Jack challenges the invisible scoreboards that follow every student through high school. He argues how these metrics are flawed - and the first act of genuine intelligence is not by scoring higher, but learning to build a ruler of our own.
