In his talk, Deniz demonstrates how flags can be used as symbols to champion global activism. As a member of the North American Vexillological Association (NAVA), an organization for flag scholarship, Deniz has presented research in the field of vexillology and advocated for flag redesign efforts in his communities. In his free time, Deniz enjoys rowing, hiking, and playing the flute. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
