Five young people have died in separate incidents after getting into difficulty in open water over the bank holiday weekend. A sixth person, a 60-year-old man, also died in Cornwall after running into the sea to help two others. It comes as the UK experienced the hottest day in May on record, with temperatures reaching 35C in London.
