US and Iranian officials are continuing diplomatic contacts as negotiations over a potential agreement move forward despite renewed military tensions in the Gulf region. US forces carried out what Washington described as "self-defense strikes" targeting Iranian boats and missile sites in southern Iran, while talks on reopening the Strait of Hormuz and extending a ceasefire continued in Doha. US President Donald Trump said progress had been made in negotiations and reiterated that any agreement would require Iran's enriched uranium to be either surrendered to the United States or destroyed. Iranian officials said discussions were advancing but stressed that key issues remain unresolved. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian also said Tehran is prepared to reassure the international community that its nuclear program is peaceful. #CGTNOnSite
