Texas state attorney general Ken Paxton, who was endorsed by President Donald Trump, scored a resounding win in the state Republican senate primary, against senior Rep. John Cornyn, ending his four-decade career. Cornyn is now the second incumbent GOP senator to fall to a Trump-endorsed challenger, setting up a bruising battle between Paxton and Democratic nominee James Talarico in the fall.
