The number of people in the UK who are not in education, employment or training (Neet) could reach 1.25 million within the next five years, risking a "lost generation", according to a new report, led by Former Labour health secretary Alan Milburn. Currently, one in eight people aged 16 to 24 in the UK are Neet, but this could rise to one in six young people by 2031, the government-commissioned review found.
