WHO calls for ceasefire in DR Congo to contain Ebola outbreak

The World Health Organisation has called for an immediate ceasefire in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo to allow humanitarian access to tackle a outbreak of a rare form of Ebola. Almost 1,000 suspected cases of the disease and over 100 deaths have already been reported. Yesterday, Uganda closed its border with Congo despite WHO advice that this could push people to informal crossing points and increase the risk of the disease spreading.
