Flash flooding trapped the group inside the cave on May 20, sealing the entrance completely. Rescue efforts were severely hindered by submerged chambers, unstable rock formations and narrow passages, with some tunnels measuring just 50cm wide. Authorities are continuing their search for the remaining two villagers.
