U.S. officials have confirmed multiple media reports that the U.S. and Iran are seeking to forge a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for a 60-day ceasefire. Vice President JD Vance said yesterday that nothing has been signed yet, but according to reports, an agreement would include Iran's removal of mines in the Strait of Hormuz, which could lower oil and gas prices. The U.S. would gradually ease sanctions and its blockade against Iran. Within the 60-day ceasefire, the parties would try to settle the sharp divide over Iran's uranium enrichment program. Israel's military is concerned about Tehran's ballistic missile threat, which endangers Israeli civilians. Also in Israel, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu indicated that the IDF is tightening the noose around Hamas in Gaza. Israel claims to control roughly 60 percent of the Gaza Strip and is aiming for control of 70 percent to eliminate the threat from Hamas. CBN News.
