US President Donald Trump says he is preparing to make a “final determination” on a possible agreement with Iran, following high-level discussions at the White House Situation Room. In a post on Truth Social, Trump said Iran must agree never to obtain a nuclear weapon and suggested the US naval blockade in the Strait of Hormuz could soon be lifted. Iran, however, says no final agreement has been reached, with officials in Tehran insisting negotiations are still ongoing and major disputes remain unresolved. The developments come amid renewed diplomatic efforts over Iran’s nuclear programme, regional tensions in the Gulf, and international concerns about maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz. Former CIA officer Scott Uehlinger says any future agreement would require strict inspections and verification measures to ensure Iran is not secretly advancing nuclear capabilities.
