Still on the June 25 commemoration, activists insist the planned demonstrations to honour victims of the Gen Z protests of 2024 and 2025 will go on as scheduled. The activists have warned against the use of force to disrupt what they describe as peaceful protests, while raising concerns over alleged plans to deploy goons to interfere with Thursday’s demonstrations. As Willy Lusige reports, the government has nonetheless maintained that no protests will be allowed and that those who demonstrate will be met with heavy force.
