This week marks 50 years since a record-breaking heatwave set in, scorching the UK with temperatures regularly exceeding 30C. The summer of 1976 has lived long in the memories of those who experienced it - but there are warnings from climate experts that extreme weather which was once an anomaly is becoming more frequent, impactful and dangerous. Temperatures for the latest heatwave are likely to overtake the June record set in Hampshire in 1976 by several degrees and could come close to the UK’s all-time high of 40.3C which was measured in July 2022. #itvnews #heatwave #weather
