Space exploration is not about escaping Earth's problems. It might be the only way to solve them. High school student and aerospace engineering hopeful Patrick Udomphornvirat started emailing space industry CEOs and professors two years ago asking one question: how does your technology help people down here? What he found changed how he thinks about space entirely. From testing cancer cells in zero gravity to beaming solar energy down from orbit to moving AI data centers off Earth entirely, Patrick makes the case that the most powerful tool we have for fixing the health crisis, climate change, and the energy problem is not on Earth at all.
