Trump's anti-asylum policy, recently approved by the Supreme Court, echoes a decision in 1939 to block a boat carrying German Jews fleeing Nazi persecution from seeking asylum in the United States. Around one-third of the boat's passengers were later murdered during the Nazi Holocaust.
