Record-breaking heatwave brings wildfires and more travel chaos

Another temperature record for June has been set in this week's heatwave after a high of 37.3C was recorded in Santon Downham, Suffolk on Friday afternoon. It beat the previous hottest June day on record, when 37.1C was recorded in Cavendish, Suffolk, earlier today. The Met Office said that a number of other locations may come in higher during the course of Friday afternoon and would be issuing updates.
