The search for survivors continues across cities in northern Venezuela after two earthquakes hit the country Wednesday evening. More than 920 people have been killed after 7.2 and 7.5 magnitude quakes struck within minutes of each other, the head of Venezuela's national assembly, Jorge Rodriguez, said. It is believed that the figure will continue to climb in the coming days, with some 3,360 people also injured. The number of casualties is expected to rise as thousands of people have been reported missing. A website for people to register loved ones believed to be missing has received nearly 58,500 reports so far, with no contact having been made with more than 50,000 people. With communication patchy, social media and online registries have become a crucial tool for many Venezuelans seeking information and resources beyond sparse government statistics. The 7.2- and 7.5-magnitude earthquakes that hit on Wednesday evening were among the strongest in Venezuela in more than a century
