The National Police Service is facing mounting criticism after footage emerged showing police officers arresting a human rights activist living with disability during Thursday’s Gen Z memorial demonstrations in Nakuru. The activist, James Thuku Mbugua, was taken into a police vehicle by armed officers before being detained at Nakuru Police Station and later released alongside 11 other protesters. The incident has reignited debate over police conduct and the treatment of persons living with disability during public demonstrations.
