New vitiligo trial offers hope for patients in Kenya

For many people living with vitiligo, the condition is more than a change in skin colour. It often comes with years of stigma, bullying and shattered self-confidence, as they navigate a society that continues to misunderstand the condition. But this World Vitiligo Day brings renewed hope,researchers at the Kenyatta National Hospital are conducting advanced Phase Three clinical trials of a promising new treatment that combines a tiny under-the-skin implant with light therapy, a breakthrough that could restore skin pigmentation and transform the lives of thousands living with vitiligo.
