Democracy for the Citizens Party leader Rigathi Gachagua says he had credible intelligence indicating he would have been targeted had he participated in the June 25 Gen Z commemoration demonstrations. Speaking from his residence in Wamunyoro on Saturday, Gachagua alleged that the government planned to infiltrate the protests, trigger chaos, destroy property and businesses, and later blame the violence on him and protesters arrested that day. He also threatened to rally Kenyans to boycott paying taxes if the government proceeds with plans to introduce annual inspection for private vehicles beginning in July.
