Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar and Puducherry Chief Minister N. Rangasamy on Sunday spearheaded National Pulse Polio Day initiatives in Chennai, Bengaluru and Puducherry, respectively. Vijay launched a statewide drive targeting 53 lakh children through over 43,000 vaccination centres, while Shivakumar administered polio drops to children and urged continued vigilance despite India's polio-free status. In Puducherry, Rangasamy inaugurated the immunisation campaign and appealed to parents to ensure every child receives polio drops.
