The Ministry of Health is calling for a crackdown on bars and entertainment joints operating near schools as part of efforts to protect learners from substance abuse. Mary Muthoni said some traders are using attractive packaging and other tactics to lure school-going children into harmful habits. She spoke during the ministry's nationwide public participation exercise on proposed amendments to the 2007 tobacco control laws.
