Forty years ago, the chance discovery of a matinee jacket near a dingo lair, at the base of Uluru, unravelled a murder conviction and sparked a royal commission. That clothing is now part of a 600-strong Chamberlain collection at the National Museum of Australia, preserving objects from one of the nation’s most notorious homicide investigations.
