Two powerful M7+ earthquakes that struck Venezuela in quick succession on June 24 have so far claimed almost 1,000 lives, including seven Chinese nationals. Though the golden 72-hour window has closed, Venezuela has launched a full-scale emergency response amid widespread building collapses and paralyzed infrastructure. The UN, Red Cross and regional states have provided funds, supplies and rescue support. China has offered condolences and stands ready to deliver humanitarian aid, while the China-Venezuela Chamber of Commerce in Venezuela has been actively involved in on-the-ground rescue efforts. Rescue and reconstruction work is ongoing with global solidarity. CGTN brings you the latest.
