Jack Gilmore was fatally shot during a botched home invasion at his Rye home in December 2024 when three intruders—Mason Matticoli, Charlie Hayter and Tyler Van de Steeg—broke in seeking drugs and cash. Matticoli and Van de Steeg have pleaded guilty to manslaughter, while a third man, Jarrod Smit, was involved in burning the getaway car after the incident that left both Gilmore and intruder Charlie Hayter dead. Despite the tragedy, Gilmore's mother has publicly stated she forgives her son's killers, with all three men set to be sentenced on 17 July.
