Martin Lewis says Ofcom’s reforms on mid-contract broadband and mobile price rises have ‘failed consumers’, with new research suggesting almost three in four deals now leave customers worse off than under the previous system. The consumer champion is calling for above-inflation mid-contract price hikes to be banned, arguing that if you sign up to a fixed-term contract, the price should stay fixed for the length of the deal. An Ofcom spokesperson said: ‘Our rules are designed to ensure that customers have complete clarity upfront on the prices they’ll pay throughout their contract, rather than being hit with unpredictable and volatile inflation-linked rises. Banning price rises altogether risks unintended consequences, including the death of the introductory discount.’ Broadcast on 29/06/2026 Stream Good Morning Britain live, every weekday from 6am on the ITVX 📲 http://daytimelink.itv.com/WatchGMBYT  Subscribe now for more! http://bit.ly/1NbomQa  Like, follow and subscribe to Goo
