In his talk, “Advocating Responsible Antibiotic Use,” Philip discusses antimicrobial resistance and the growing threat posed by antibiotic misuse. Explaining how bacteria evolve into resistant “superbugs,” he highlights the importance of education, awareness, and informed action in combating one of the world’s most pressing public health challenges. Philip Chummar, a Grade 10 student, is deeply fascinated by microbiology, a passion that has shaped his academic journey. His interest has led him to work with the Harvard Undergraduate Microbiology Society, where he serves as a team lead in a global campaign raising awareness about the microbial world This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
