Thousands of people in northern Lebanon celebrated Brazil's 2-1 victory over Japan in the FIFA World Cup 2026 on Monday, with supporters taking to the streets waving Brazilian flags, beating drums and sounding horns after the final whistle. The largest population of Lebanese descent is said to live in Brazil, according to Brazil’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
