Have you ever gone shopping and noticed how pink razors are always more expensive than blue ones? That is a prime example of the pink tax in daily life. Pink tax is defined as the tendency for products marketed towards women to be more expensive than the men's equivalent. Pink tax affects women every day, from toiletries to toys, school uniforms to haircuts. This speech explores the cost of gendered pricing as well as the social cost it has on women, bringing prices up on everyday items. I will be talking about the roots of the pink tax and what we can do to stop it. Gracie is a student at Francis Holland, Regent's Park. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
