In today’s society, we tend to think myths belong to the past - in Ancient Greece and Rome. While that may be true, what if we’re still living in them? From Mount Olympus, to Middle Earth, to a galaxy far, far away, this talk explores how more modern stories we love today follow the same patterns as Ancient Greek mythology, and why humans still need and use myths to understand power, heroes and identity. Sophie is a student at Francis Holland, Regent's Park. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
