According to Israeli intelligence, Hamas is exploiting the October 2025 ceasefire to rebuild terror infrastructure in Gaza, including new rocket positions and tighter control over humanitarian aid entering the Strip. In response, Israel has carried out near-daily strikes targeting Hamas leaders linked to the October 7 massacre and ongoing reconstruction efforts. Over the weekend, the IDF targeted and over recent months engineering forces worked to seal a 10-mile underground tunnel system. Israeli officials say it functioned as a Hamas command-and-control center, containing around 80 underground rooms and built beneath a residential neighborhood. The tunnel was constructed under civilian infrastructure including mosques, schools, kindergartens, clinics, and a UNRWA facility, using more than 30,000 cubic meters of concrete. It also reportedly held the body of Israeli soldier Lt. Hadar Goldin for more than a decade. Footage: IDF Spokesperson.
