A major national inquiry has delivered a damning assessment of NHS maternity services in England, concluding that the system is failing to provide consistently safe, high-quality and compassionate care. The review, led by Baroness Valerie Amos, found that racism and discrimination remain deeply embedded within maternity services, describing these issues as unacceptable and calling for urgent action.
