Rocco Fazzari has been a sketch artist since the 80s and has drawn some familiar names: Ivan Milat, Ben Roberts-Smith, Kathleen Folbigg. While cameras are banned inside Australian courtrooms, except in special circumstances, Fazzari says sketch artists play a crucial role conveying the life of a court case to the general public. Fazzari says, in the past, he would be asked to sketch all sorts of hearings, tightening media budgets means he now only gets the call up for big cases.
