Tamil Nadu Higher Education Minister Viswanathan releases engineering rank list

Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) 2026 rank list and counselling schedule were officially announced. Officials revealed that over 2.36 lakh students have been assigned rank numbers this year, including government school students under the 7.5% reservation category, sports quota, ex-servicemen quota, and differently-abled category. Authorities confirmed that counselling for special reservation categories will begin earlier, followed by general counselling from July 20 to August 30. The final list of engineering colleges and seat matrix is expected to be finalized after ongoing inspections. The Higher Education Minister also addressed concerns regarding engineering college infrastructure, additional intake of nearly 19,657 seats, and transparency in admission procedures.
