It was the winter of 2006 when Christina Hamilton first met Taylor Swift. Walking into a classroom at the age of 14, she saw a girl with blonde ringlets waving her towards an empty desk. “I’m Taylor Swift, you’re Christina Hamilton, and you’re on the dance team,” Swift announced. The two became friends in criminal justice, their favourite class. They pushed their desks together and shared earphones, listening to songs by Patty Griffin on Swift’s iPod.
