Efforts to contain an Ebola outbreak in Bunia, in the Democratic Republic of Congo, are being hampered by widespread mistrust and misinformation. Community volunteers and local transport workers are helping authorities spread public health messages, while government billboards across the city urge residents to seek treatment early. Some locals remain unconvinced the disease is real, and treatment centres have been attacked. The DRC has experienced 17 Ebola outbreaks since 1976, with deep-rooted suspicion continuing to complicate each response. Al Jazeera's Catherine Soi reports from Bunia, DRC.
