BREAKING: Sir Keir Starmer has called historical forced adoption a “stain on our history”, as he formally apologised on behalf of the British state. In a statement to the Commons, the Prime Minister said he found it "hard to read" the testimonies of mothers, children and families affected, particularly as a father. An estimated 185,000 babies were taken from their mothers in the 1950s, 60s, and 70s. Sir Keir said many young and vulnerable women were coerced, bullied or misled into believing they had no choice. He said the practices were embedded across local authorities, voluntary and faith–based institutions. #BreakingNews #KeirStarmer #Adoption #uknews #GBNews Keep up to date with GB News at gbnews.com or on X @GBNEWS Become a Friend of GB News: gbnews.com/friend
